Medicare Plans
We provide guided assistance for taking
of your new Medicare plan.
Original Medicare
Part A: Hospital Insurance
-
Medicare Part A, or hospital insurance, covers hospital care, skilled nursing facility care, hospice care, and home health services.
-
It covers up to 90 days of hospitalization per benefit period, which starts on the day of admission and ends after 60 consecutive days out of the hospital.
- The cost depends on income. If the patient or their spouse paid Medicare taxes, they likely won't have to pay premiums. In 2024, the deductible per benefit period is $1,632.
Original Medicare
Part B: Medical insurance
Medicare Part B is medical insurance that helps cover services not included in Part A, such as:
- Services from doctors and other health providers
- Outpatient care
- Home health care
- Durable medical equipment
- Certain preventive services
To be eligible for Medicare Part B, you must:
- Be at least 65 years old
- Be a U.S. citizen or a permanent U.S. resident
- Have lived in the country for at least 5 consecutive years
Medicare Advantage Plans
Part C: Hospital + Medical
Part A: Hospital Insurance
Part B: Medical
Part D: Prescription Drugs
- Combines Original Medicare, Part A and Part B, in 1 plan
- Often includes Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage.
- May include additional programs and services that are not offered by Original Medicare.
These plans are part of the government's Medicare program, but are offered and administered through private insurers, such as Cigna Healthcare, and may provide additional plan benefits not found in Original Medicare. You must be enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B to participate..
Drug Plans
- Helps pay some health care costs (co-payments, co-insurance and deductibles) that Original Medicare does not cover
- Works with Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) and Medicare Part D prescription drug plans, but not with Medicare Advantage plans (Part C).
- Offers nationwide coverage with no network restrictions2
A Medicare Supplement policy (also known as a Medigap) is private health insurance in addition to Original Medicare. It helps pay approximately 20% of the Medicare expenses that Original Medicare does not cover, after the Part B deductible is met.
Medicare Supplement
Part D: Prescription Drugs
- Medicare Part D prescription drug plans are part of the government's Medicare program, but are offered and administered by approved private insurers. These plans help reduce the cost of prescription medications that can prevent complications of an illness and help you stay healthy.

Private Health insurance and Health Plans inside and outside the market
We provide guided assistance for the adoption of your new Medicare plan.
Health Maintenance Organization (HMO)
Generally, with HMO plans, the care and services you get must come from doctors, other health care providers, and hospitals that are in the plan's network, except:
- Emergency care
- Out-of-area emergency care
- Temporary dialysis that is out of area
Preferred Provider Organization (PPO)
A PPO plan can be a great option if you need the flexibility to access out-of-network specialists and doctors without needing a referral. These plans typically have lower copays and coinsurance for in-network providers, which can help you save money on your regular medical expenses.
Exclusive Supplier Organization (EPO)
EPO plans cover only in-network care, but the networks are generally larger. They may or may not require referrals from a primary care physician. Premiums are higher than HMO plans, but lower than PPO plans.
Service point (POS)
(POS)
A POS plan may require you to get a referral from your PCP to see a specialist. For slightly higher premiums than an HMO plan, this plan covers out-of-network doctors, although you will pay more. This difference is important if you are dealing with an illness and one or more of your doctors are not in-network.
